Celebrating the Woman in Your Life This Mother's Day
May 8, 2020
Howdy everyone! This Sunday is Mother’s Day, so I thought I’d try to help y’all out a bit and give you a few ideas on how to make this Mother’s Day one the Momma in your life will cherish!
ONE ON ONE
One of the best gifts you can give your Mother is some alone time where you both get away from the hustle and bustle of life and spend some quality time together. The beautiful thing about a gift like this is that it can be very inexpensive! For instance, take her for a drive around the city to look at historic buildings and art, or maybe take a walk in your local park. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant or excessive, but with life being so busy and moving so quickly, the simplicity of spending time one on one is a gift all moms love and appreciate. If you are unable to spend some time with your mom in person, set up a Zoom call or Face-time her so y’all can interact and see one another!
HOMEMADE IS FROM THE HEART
I know that homemade gifts can be thought of as cliche and cheap, but honestly, there is nothing more a Mother loves than you taking the time to create something for her. Again, it doesn’t have to be extravagant or time-consuming, a handwritten letter with words from the heart, or a photo book with meaningful pictures, or maybe even a playlist with music that makes you think of her! Something simple and thoughtful can really demonstrate how much you care for your Mother and will definitely tug at her heartstrings!
ENGAGE YOUR INNER CHEF
There is nothing Moms love more than being cooked for! After all, she is the one who cooked and cleaned for us for most of our young lives! Surprising her with a home cooked meal is a great Mother’s Day treat. You could get up early and do breakfast in bed for her, or maybe pack a picnic for lunch. If you have siblings, you could even get everyone’s help to go all out and cook her a nice dinner! She will love that you put in time and effort to create something that everyone can come together and enjoy. Again, if you are unable to be with your mom in person, you can set up a Zoom or Face-time call and y’all can cook something together!
Even though we may not all be able to be with our Mother’s this Mother’s Day, there is something we can do to make her day special. I hope you found some of these suggestions helpful, and I hope you and your Mother have an amazing Mother’s Day weekend!
