July 10, 2025

Deepening Its Commitment to Financial Literacy
Guaranty Bank & Trust is proud to return as a sponsor of the 29th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair, taking place Friday, August 1, 2025, at Fair Park in the Automobile Building and Centennial Hall. Hosted by Mayor Eric L. Johnson, this cherished event brings together thousands of families across Dallas to help students start the school year strong.More than just a school supply giveaway, the Fair is a citywide effort to support students and parents by providing the tools they need to prepare for the year ahead. Families will have access to immunizations, vision and dental screenings, and more than 100 community resources and service providers focused on student well-being and success.
“The Mayor’s Back to School Fair is one of Dallas’ most impactful annual events — and one of my personal favorites,” said Mayor Eric Johnson. “Each year, the Mayor’s Back to School Fair equips thousands of kids and families with what they need to succeed in the school year ahead. The Mayor’s Back to School Fair exemplifies the very best of the Dallas spirit, showing that our city is committed to supporting our neighbors in need and ensuring that everyone is able to take advantage of the great opportunities Dallas has to offer.”
Guaranty Bank & Trust is honored to sponsor the Fair for the third year in a row, continuing its investment in education, family support, and building stronger communities across Texas.
“At Guaranty Bank & Trust, supporting our youth and their futures is central to who we are,” said Mike Merritt, Dallas Market President. “The Mayor’s Back to School Fair is such an important tradition in Dallas, and we’re proud to be part of something that uplifts so many families at such a critical time.”
This year, Guaranty Bank & Trust is expanding its presence with an interactive booth experience focused on financial literacy. Families can take part in engaging activities that introduce key financial concepts in a fun and accessible way. Cash the Mascot will also be back, handing out prizes and spreading smiles to kids throughout the day.
As part of its continued commitment to families, Guaranty Bank & Trust will also distribute custom-branded backpacks and host a door prize giveaway, adding an extra layer of excitement and support as students get ready for the new school year.
“We believe financial literacy is a critical building block for future success,” said Ryan Coaxum, Senior Vice President of Community Development and External Affairs. “We’re proud to bring a different twist to our booth experience — combining learning with fun — and to continue connecting with families in a meaningful way. We look forward to another incredible event!”
Guaranty Bank & Trust’s involvement in the Fair is just one of many ways the bank continues its mission of Growing Strong Communities — through hands-on community involvement, financial education, and partnerships that matter.
